He was born in 1960 in Izmir.

After completing his secondary education in İzmir Atatürk High School, he graduated from Ege University Faculty of Medicine in 1977, in 1983.

After completing his compulsory service in the Türkeli district of Sinop between 1983-85, he passed the examination held by Hacettepe University in 1986 and started his specialization in radiation oncology.

In 1990, he gained the right to specialize in radiation oncology.

 

In the same year, he was appointed as the first department head of the Department of Radiation Oncology at Dokuz Eylül University and was assigned to the Radiation Oncology Department of Nürnberg Hospital, Germany for the establishment studies of the department.

After returning to Turkey in 1991, he continued to work as an assistant professor in the department whose establishment was completed.

During this period, the faculty prepared an algorithmic protocol for the preservation of the breast in patients with breast cancer, contributing to the formation of multidisciplinary groups for the first time in Turkey. He was one of the pioneers of the spread of this treatment throughout the country by presenting the success rates of patients treated with this protocol at congresses.

In addition, by contributing to the preparation of a multidisciplinary protocol on the treatment of the disease, it has been one of the pioneers in the spread of this form of treatment throughout the country, in patients with rectal cancer, with preoperative radiation therapy, preserving intestinal integrity, and contributing to the preparation of a multidisciplinary protocol for the treatment of the disease.

He became an associate professor in 1995 and a professor in 2000 in the same department.

In 2002, the U.S. in Jacksonville, Florida, as a visiting professor at Mayo and Memorial Hospitals, and worked on prostate cancer.

With a presentation on the treatment of breast cancer patients, Prof. Dr. Hilmi ALANYALI has more than 100 studies published in scientific journals and presented at congresses and also 3 book chapters.
